「スケールと幻想」


JIA東海支部機関誌『ARCHITECT』表紙写真


2016年４月よりJIA公益社団法人 日本建築家協会東海支部の機関誌『ARCHITECT』の表紙写真を1年間担当しました。

タイトルは「スケールと幻想」
家にある家庭用品を使って空間を発見していくという試みです。

毎回家庭用品を使ってつくった空間を撮影した写真を表紙に、
そして使用した家庭用品をページ裏に文章とともに載せていただいています。

写真表現でしか成立していない一時の幻想を楽しんでいただけたら幸いです。

Scale and illusion

Since the April 2016 issue, I have been commissioned to take front-cover
photos for ARCHITECT, the monthly magazine of the Tokai branch of the
Japan Institute of Architects. This series of photography, entitled “scale and
illusion,” is a unique attempt to discover a new aspect of space through the
arrangement of a variety of everyday kitchen utensils. At the exact moment
when household goods, which are merely collective, take the form of
something different, a particular setting comes into existence. This series of
presentation originated with the idea that if familiar items are placed in an
unusual setting on a different scale, the overall arrangement will create an
entirely different world. Using the household utensils as they are, I've
continued to seek the perfect balance of light and shade to capture textures
of materials on an unusual scale. This is a form of expression that only the
art of photography can fabricate.


“scale and illusion” is awarded an honorable
mention in the Canon New Cosmos of Photography 2016.
